Aroma is on the sweet side, with cherries, wood, and a little tartness. Flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma; it exhibits a nice balance between sweet-tart cherries, wood, and a little acetic acid. Dry cherry finish. refreshing and quite easy to drink. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

Tart cherry flavor gives way to pucker tart. Plastic phenol tinges marr the flavor especially noticable in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light and fairly smooth and dry. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Poured almost clear and dark brown with ruby on the peripheries. Very liitle lacing. The aroma was cherry with plenty of wood and vanilla. The flavor was tart cherry, wood and caramel. The sweetness really tried to push back against the sour in this one. Lots of carbonation but not in a distracting way. Went down easy. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA

I just had a New Belgium Frambozen, which was just OK. I like this one a little bit better, as I enjoy the tart finish. The fruit is there but it is not overwhelming. It certainly makes the beer red, though. Sort of reminds me of the Duchesse, minus the balsamic vinegar (most of it anyway). shawnm213 (957), South Bend, Indiana, USA
