Nov 3, 2002 Not a big fruit beer fan, I approached this with some trepidation. I just had a New Belgium Frambozen, which was just OK. I like this one a little bit better, as I enjoy the tart finish. The fruit is there but it is not overwhelming. It certainly makes the beer red, though. Sort of reminds me of the Duchesse, minus the balsamic vinegar (most of it anyway).

Mar 28, 2009 Pours reddish brown with tan head. Sour cherry aroma. Flavor is initially sour followed by tart cherries and some woody notes. Medium body with lively carbonation.

Nov 10, 2009 Sampled on tap at Churchkey DC. Pours a nice mahogany red with a thin, slightly reddish head. Strong fruit aroma, some tartness, sweetness. Flavor is tart, berries, cherries, a touch woody, apples, raisins. Finish is tart and slightly sticky. Nice aroma, easy drinker.

Feb 2, 2008 Amazing scent of oaky red wine, I have ever had a beer that smells like this. The beer is a gorgeous ruby red, soft white eighth inch head that sticks around. The taste is sublime, sour ad oaky, beautiful accents of sour cherry. A beautiful beer.

Jun 20, 2009 Poured out a nice clear dark red with brown highlights and a small faint reddish white cap that fades to a ring and leaves a small ammount of lacing. The aroma is of cheap red wine, alcohol, very obvious oak and some cherries. The taste seems dry...cherries and some peppery yeast. Comes across very tart and you can taste the wood (insert phallic joke of the moment please). Light bodied. Seems carbonated but isn’t. Has a dry, peppery finish. Odd.

Jun 17, 2009 Draft. Pours a nice brown hues cherry red with a thin white head. A nice mild sour cherry with a full brown ale malt backing. Nicely carbonated. A real nice drink.

Mar 5, 2007 Bottle @ Chez Moeder Lambic. Brown color, runy highlights, thick head that didn’t last. Sweet and sour cherries in aroma and flavor. Cola mouthfeel. Tart and refreshing--lacks the challenge of a lambic because it’s beerier, and that’s OK.
