| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 3, 2009 Dark ruby red. Sweet cherry nose. Some wood and yeast. Other dark fruits apparent. Flavor is malty and loads of cherry sweetness. Bitter tart unripe cherries and lactic acid. Very sweet but does not linger. finishes dry. I’m a fan. illidurit (898), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 13, 2009 Pours a ruddy mahogany orange, not really the brilliant ruby of true kriek. Leaves some nice pinkish-tan-ecru lacing on the glass. Aroma is overripe cherries with a lactic black cherry yogurt note and also some sort of salty, lightly smokey note. Flavor is just about the same, although the smokey note proves to be slightly meaty, as if in a rauchbier. Very odd. Cherries and ham isn’t really my thing. Mouthfeel is coarse from overcarbonation, but otherwise it’s alright. HighGravity (891), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2005 (Best by June/07/2005) Very cherry in color with a nice pink head. The palate is dry with a touch of iron and horse blanket. At 6.8% this beer is dangerously drinkable. Not a world classic, but well above average. drpimento (883), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 18, 2007 Nice beer! The simple commercial description does actually provide a succinct description. Those flavors are very well balanced and blended. Almost, if not a session beer. Natural, great finish. Numenor (869), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Caramel colored body with a thin, off-white head. Sour fruit aroma, some vinegar. A cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg flavor. Nice cool ending. mgermani (866), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jan 12, 2007 Pours a deep rich red with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma very distinct: sour cherries (black forest cake!) and red wine. Tastes just like it smells - more cherries, less wine, but a lingering dry sweet/sour aftertaste. Very little in the way of hops. Numbing sensation in the aftertaste, thin body but unique - slightly over-carbonated. Good beer with great character, but lacks some variety in palette. Not my cup of tea, but nonetheless well done. cab (863), Denmark
