The nose is acidic, lightly woodsy and a touch medicinal with notes of black cherries and subtle molasses. The very acetic, fruity flavor shows flashes of medium alcohol and tempering sweetness. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and modest carbonation. Finishes sweet, tart and tannic. Hearty for a lambic! CaptainCougar (5527), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of fresh sweet and sour cherries. Body is a very nice balance of malty sweetness and cherry juice acidity. Finishes sweet, tart, and smooth with some fruity complexity. A good kriek. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 3, 2003 Wow, i'm surprised how low the ratings are here. This was delicious, lovely tart sour cherry flavours, with some earthy stinkyness, the finish is very refreshing. The mouthfeel is light, yet the flavour absolutely bursts on your tongue, i liked this better than the Duchesse De Bourgogne. JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2004 Red-brown, not very dark; extremely fine & dense head, with a cream-pink hue. Cherry nose, quite fruity and woody, but at the same time perfumed, not really like the fresh fruit. Very tart taste, with a beautiful extreme wood-tannine backing. Very fruit-like again, better than the nose. Retronasal, there's just a touch of the fruit juice. Tart, outspoken dry-out effect, huge amounts of organic acids. The nose might just be off-putting for the extreme die-hard, for the less initiated it well be safer haven. The taste leaves nothing to be desired. Under-rated beer - even by myself.
