The beer is a red-brown color and has a thin but frothy pinkish head. Tart cherry and some slightly sour-sweet vinegar comprise most of the flavor. There are hints of chocolate in this medium-light beer as well. It is airy which helps to really open up the flavors and aromas. This is a very good kriek.
0.33 l bottle (13-10-06; 6% Alc./Vol.). Rating #388 for this beer.

Some carbonation but smooth on your palate. Sweetness quickly fades to puckering sour cherries with oaky vinegar. Nice finish and very good drinking sour ale. dkachur (2411), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

Pours a clear ruby color with a medium pinkish head. Fair head retention and lacing. Normally would rate lower on appearance but I just love the color. Aroma of tart cherries and quite a bit of musty funk. Light citrus and sugary notes as well. Taste is tart cherries, vanilla, citrus and apple. Very lively carbonation. Medium-full bodied. I like this one a lot and I think it’s become apparent that a low-key unassuming kriek is one of my favorite styles. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA

Nice and sticky mouthfeel with what I thought was wild lambicy yeast. Reminded me of Redbach, but this one felt it had more natural flavors. danielcurtis81 (908), San Diego, California, USA

Very strong sour cherry aroma, with a hint of vinegar. Flavour was very sour and very cherry. An extremely good beer, but not one you could drink a lot of. italarican (170), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle best by 14/08/09. Pours cranberry red with airy white head. Gentle white lacing sticks to the surface. Funky aroma of sour cherry, strawberry, lemon, and white grapes. Great flavor of sour cherry, strawberry, champagne, and brett. Not in-your-face tart, but the tartness softly lingers. Apparently, I really dig sours.
