Strong cherry aroma along with leather, lactic acid, acetic acid, distant alcohol and chocolate. Powerful sweetish flavor well balaced by acidity. Clear cherry and leather flavor with hints of cinnamon and ginger. Sweet and sour finish with cherry and wood. Delicious and balanced. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man: Pours a nice ruby color with a creamy off white, lacing head. The aroma is fruity and fairly sweet with notes of candied/maraschino cherries, marzipan and almond paste. Sweet, yet welcoming. Nice chewy feel with mild carbonation. The flavor is dominated by sweet/tart cherry flavors. The presence is very natural, however, making it pleasant. Has some almond paste sweetness and tarter cherry characteristics of cherry skins/tannins. Doesn’t offer much funk/tartness or wild fermentation suggestions, but has a very natural fruit presence and is pretty tasty overall. An easy drinker. EricE (462), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Lots of cherry and vinegar and other funky musty notes on the nose. Sweet cherry flavor, almost like candy. Then a slight sourness takes over with a nice meaty finish. Not bad. Rich cherry and caramel flavor, lots of citrus, very sour. Amazingly fruity. Complex, though with something medicinal as well. Yet the nice malty caramel with underlying sweetness balances the sour fruit. Blood red color. High carbonation. Very nice.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours a deep garnet with a large pink head that deflates somewhat quickly. Big cherry, nice funk with a touch of sweet vinegar. Medium body, light cherry flavor, but not as much as I would have expected given the nose on this one. Nice funky notes, loads of carbonation. Finishes with a little bit of funk and a touch of sweetness. gracefullypunk (307), Washington, USA

The aroma is not very complex, just tart cherries and berries. Tastes of sour black cherries with a dry finish. I like. tokyogoat (509), San Diego, California, USA

smelled of fruits and red wine
tasted slightly like calistoga sparking juice. the sweetness cloyed the yeast and the funk was just intermittent.
sweet, but the high carbonation helped it from sticking to the tongue.
overall not bad.
