A sour fruity smell to this deep red coloured beer with a good looking off-white head. The taste is suitably sour with good cherry notes. A long lingering aftertaste to this classy beer. The aroma is sour cherries and light nuty malt. Sour cherry with a fakish cherry flavor, cherry syrup I guess. Very stringent finish. jredmond (1049), New Jersey, USA

The beer is a gorgeous ruby red, soft white eighth inch head that sticks around. The taste is sublime, sour ad oaky, beautiful accents of sour cherry. A beautiful beer. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 17, 2004 Red-brown, not very dark; extremely fine & dense head, with a cream-pink hue. Cherry nose, quite fruity and woody, but at the same time perfumed, not really like the fresh fruit. Very tart taste, with a beautiful extreme wood-tannine backing. Very fruit-like again, better than the nose. Retronasal, there's just a touch of the fruit juice. Tart, outspoken dry-out effect, huge amounts of organic acids. The nose might just be off-putting for the extreme die-hard, for the less initiated it well be safer haven. The taste leaves nothing to be desired. Under-rated beer - even by myself.
