Distinctly red in colour. Not up to the standard of a lambic kriek in my view but, otherwise, just what you’d expect - woody, strong cherry character and some sour notes. Not too sweet. I just thought it fell away a little on the finish, which was quite dry and clean. A nice drink. Pump dispense at GBBF 2004.

BeanDip was extra nice to me and gave me this brew one lovely afternoon, Thanks!

Deep mahogany body, Exceptionally effervescent, * Mad explosions within the glass- Loud Fizz - A mound of light pink head becomes very vocal as it recedes - Snap, Crackle, Pop!
The aroma is dirty feet; rotten cherries, prunes, vinegar, - armpit. Flavor: is acidic…. Tart…. Large bitter / sweet notes of cherries, cabernet ….. SUPER BRUT Champagne, sweat and sour chicken. Lots of maltness.. Quite earthy and stuffy, reminds me of the first breath when entering families old cedar cabin after it had not been used for several months: mildew and aging wood, dust and stagnate air. Finishes dry and tart, like pickled ginger. A very unique experience, not even unpleasant, as one may think by reading my descriptions.

Best before 07-07-07, so maybe 4 or 5 years old.. Pours pretty un-lively, barely any lacing with a deep red color. A little bit of junk at the end of the pour. First hazy but gets darker to make visibility difficult. Aroma is very cherry pit with musky and more cherry juice. A bit of oak coming through with a bit of leafiness. taste has a bit of musky sourness but mostly more cherry and light oak. Its a bit sweeter for the style. It evaporates pretty fast on the palate. Decent stuff, aged fine enough.
12oz bottle, Bell’s tulip glass.

Pours a beautiful red with a slowly diminishing pink head, no less! Aroma is a little weak but nice. Vinegar, cherries (of course), light wood-smoke and sweaty yeast. Taste is mild but nice. Slightly sour, somewhat sweet. Mouth puckering a little. Aftertaste fades quickly from lightly sour, tiny bit bitter. Overall it’s nice, but of Verhaeghe, I like Vichtenaar a little better.

Typical intense sourness deftly balanced by sour cherries, but not overwhelmed by them. Beautiful scarlet pour with an abundance of beading. There’s a Christmas party going on in my glass. bright and lively spritziness on the tongue and throat going down...champagne-style. Very well done!

tap at City Beer, SF. pours with a reddish color and a pinkish head. Aroams of cherries and some lemon. Flavorsr are not as sour as for example a Mort Subite. there is more fruit and less sourness, quite nice on the palate, I would say it is more accessible than some of the other lambics.

Draft at Seattle International Beer Fest; Nose of cherries and very light tartness; Rusty red with a huge beige head; flavor of sour cherries with a balancing light sweetness; finish slightly tart.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours amber with a nice reddish pink hue. Aroma of vinegar and sour cherries. The high carbonation allows the flavor to explode. Big tart cherry flavor, oak, vinegar. A bit astringent on the finish. Makes you pucker too at the end. Decent ale.
