On tap @ Hopleaf. Rust colored; sweet aroma w/ notes of wood, cherries and nuts; flavor mostly of cherries; finishes dry and woody; I am told this is reminiscent of the Rodenbach Alexander- reminded me of a fruity Duchesse actually; onderful aroma and an alright beer on the whole.

The beer pours an opalescent sanguineous color, the head fair in size, frothy in texture, but settles quite quickly, leaving a spindly lace behind. Nose is sweet and sour fruit, something like raspberries and ripe bananas, light hints of malt, and not unpleasant. Front is malt with a very light sweetness, but the sourness of a “Flanders Red Ale” hits the palate almost immediately. The top is cadaverous, the finish is caustic, meagerly hopped, the aftertaste bone-dry with a lingering sourness which is expected in this style. I must admit it is a bit thin, or better yet watery, but it appears the majority of raters, have never experienced a “Flanders Red Ale”. Ranks #759 on my current 1000 beer master list.

Pours red with slight pink head. Nose is quite tart and cherrylike. Flavor is also tart-like with a smooth underlying sweetness. Nice sipping beer.

Red pinkish coloured with lots of carbonation and a rather small white head. Sweet sour cherry aroma, some touches of wood/oak. Medium palate. Finish is sweet-bitter with some sour cherry touches. Rather good one.

Deep clear amber with reddish notes and i fine slightly tanned head. Good strong cherry-nose with raisins, prune, preserved cherries. Nice high acidity and good strong sourness.

Pours an amber color with some red in it and a pinkish head. Aroma is of sour cherries, oak, and some wild yeast. Flavor starts of tart of cherries and finishes with the oak. Flavor dies out pretty quick with not much of a lingering flavor. Decent but I’ve had better brews of this style.
