Fizzy soft pillowy near white (slightly pink) head. Nose is mild cherries and a bit of red wine or light balsamic vinegar. This is a mild kriek, or maybe I’ve been spoiled by too many big sour cherry beers. Some metallic notes that get in the way a bit, but decent overall, if not very exciting. rosenbergh (907), Helsinki, Finland

Sour cherry aroma. Flavour is also very sour and cherry. Some sweetness, but not too much. Travlr (742), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2008 A full-bodied brown ale made with cherries. Has an intense fruit flavor, but no sweetness - and yet, doesn’t have the sourness of a lambic. Worth trying. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA

It pours a deep red color with a pinkish-white head. The taste is tart and the finish is dry. Worth a try as a change of pace from the normal. PorterPounder (3138), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Dark, ruby red pour with a tight, slighlty gray head, sticks around a bit. Essence of sour cherries in the aroma. Flavor alternates between the sweet and the sour wtih a heavy does of sour cherries, soem sweet tart notes and a wee hint of vinegar. Not as puckery sour as many sour ales and the mouthfeel is kind of faded. Tastes slightly worn out. Decent nightcap though. Silphium (2137), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2004 Deep red body, thin off-white head. Fruit skin aroma, very woody and musty, with a sulfuric twang that smells like artificial fart spray (ugh). The sulfuric character is also notable in the flavor and lends a strange funk to the sour, thin, woody body. There’s a bit of cherry tartness but overall this feels watered-down. I don’t like this one as well as I liked the Vichtenaar Flemish Ale. egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a clear, ruby red color with a thin, off white head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet cherries, grapes, port wine, and light oak. Taste of medicinal, sweet cherries, faint oak, and a lingering tartness. The first sip was a shocker, but I got used to this.
