Cask Canterbury beer festival. 2 draught foreign beers were on at any one time during most of the festival. This had a whiff of cherry, a bit like the Liefmans. Good sourness but the cherries don’t over power it. Good kriek beer with good balance. Maybe could do with a touch more malt

Tasted on tap at Stone brewery. Amber color with a clear layer (illusion?) on top. Thin to no head of small-to-microbubbles. Nice musty sour aroma. Sweet, perfect mild sourness. mild sour cherry aroma. Slippery velvety smoothness. Very drinkable. Lots of similarity to duchess, except this is much better. Delicious.

Thanks to lb4lb for sharing this 750ml bottle. Nice clear reddish mahogany color with smallish fizzy head. Smells sweet, brown candy sugar, vinegary, dusty fruit, hints at cherry. Smells like Duchesse d B. with a bit of cherry. Sweet, slightly tart, vinegary acid, dusty cherry. Pretty drinkable, but pretty sweet.

Bottle shared with Carlus 12 at Hoopers, Camberwell, London. A nice way to see in number 500 with a sour ale. Nose is sour, lambic, cream and yeast. The aroma is so deep that it seems to suck you in. Pours a deep mahogany coour beer with a fluffy white head. Cherry, oak, bitter, malt, sweet, vinegar and sharp to boot. Brilliant.

Bottle sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk. Pours red with a small light pink head. Aroma of oak and tart cherries. Flavor of sweet cherry and cinnamon. Wow, this beer is super tasty! Awesome fruit beer/sour ale. SOOO underrated!!

Bottle. Deep, reddish-brown color, pinkish head. Aroma of sour cherries and some earthy tones. Beautiful cherry flavor, with well-balanced sweetness. One of the best krieks I’ve had the pleasure of tasting.

On tap at Stone. Yum Yum Yum. Smells sour with a background of funkiness. Farmy undertones. Wonderful brown red color. Taste is good, but the leftovers are great. This funkiness in the aftertaste hangs out and bounces around the mouth for a long time. The quote I wrote at the time was the leftovers hang out and party in my mouth.

250ml bottle (expiry 7/10) into wine glass. Appears as a spritzy cherry red beer with a short lasting fine cream pink head. Obvious nose of cherries with background sour and woody aromas plus a hint of red wine vinegar. The taste is tart up front with the restrained cherry sweetness hitting the tongue later on. It has nicely balanced sweet and sour flavours. Medium bodied with a lively mouthfeel. Excellent.
