Mild, pungent, fruity aroma - predominantly cherries and grapes. The flavor is more superficial than Duchess, with more cherries and a bit more tartness. Possibly a bit metallic / artificial. Still very good, but no Duchesse. noncaloric (629), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2008 Full aroma of sweet cherries and oak. Pours a clear deep red with a compact pink head. Flavor is cherries and vanilla, whose sweetness offsets a long bitter woody finish. Dry on the finish, has the sensation in common with many dubbels where it seems to evaporate off the tongue. More a sipper than a drinker. katerade (14), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Poured a luxurious, dark ruby red in colour and was fairly well carbonated. The head was miniscule and didn’t stay around beyond a few seconds. Aroma was faint, but did suggest some cherry. The taste was quite pleasant, being chiefly cherry with a bit of malt and was not as bitter as expected. I found this one rather "fizzier" than other Kriekenbiers. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2009 6/19/2008: Echt Kriekenbier has an aroma containing cherry and very slight Balsamic vinegar. The beer is a red-brown color and has a thin but frothy pinkish head. Tart cherry and some slightly sour-sweet vinegar comprise most of the flavor. There are hints of chocolate in this medium-light beer as well. It is airy which helps to really open up the flavors and aromas. This is a very good kriek.
0.33 l bottle (13-10-06; 6% Alc./Vol.). Rating #388 for this beer.

Gentle white lacing sticks to the surface. Funky aroma of sour cherry, strawberry, lemon, and white grapes. Great flavor of sour cherry, strawberry, champagne, and brett. Not in-your-face tart, but the tartness softly lingers. Apparently, I really dig sours. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
