padrefan98 (592), (San Diego) Santee, California, USA Jul 22, 2008 Sampled at the Second Anual Stone Sour Festival on 7/20/2008. One of a few bottles I tried. A pretty decent sour ale.
PilsnerPeter (1376), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 15, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man: Pours a nice ruby color with a creamy off white, lacing head. The aroma is fruity and fairly sweet with notes of candied/maraschino cherries, marzipan and almond paste. Sweet, yet welcoming. Nice chewy feel with mild carbonation. The flavor is dominated by sweet/tart cherry flavors. The presence is very natural, however, making it pleasant. Has some almond paste sweetness and tarter cherry characteristics of cherry skins/tannins. Doesn’t offer much funk/tartness or wild fermentation suggestions, but has a very natural fruit presence and is pretty tasty overall. An easy drinker. cgarvieuk (2302), Edinburgh, Scotland Aug 12, 2008 Cask at GBBF ... deep red ...Sour woody light fruit nose ... tart ligth hop and some cherry and little sour.
