On-tap at Stone on 5/8/08. Pours red with a brown tint and a thin, crisp, off-white head. Smells slightly malty with a cough syrup cherry smell as well. Tastes earthy malty up front with a tart, fake cherry flavor through the middle to the finish. Medium body with ok carb. Not a favorite for me. I’d be surprised if real cherries were used to brew it.

Aug 27, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep red color ale with a rather large pink color foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma consists of a load of cherries with some notes of oak. Taste is also a mix between loads of cherries that are sour but also lightly sweet but some light sour and tart notes with some oak presence also noticeable. Full body with some great carbonation and no appearance of alcohol. Very well done and definitely something I wish I could get more often.

Aug 15, 2008 Tap at Ginger Man: Pours a nice ruby color with a creamy off white, lacing head. The aroma is fruity and fairly sweet with notes of candied/maraschino cherries, marzipan and almond paste. Sweet, yet welcoming. Nice chewy feel with mild carbonation. The flavor is dominated by sweet/tart cherry flavors. The presence is very natural, however, making it pleasant. Has some almond paste sweetness and tarter cherry characteristics of cherry skins/tannins. Doesn’t offer much funk/tartness or wild fermentation suggestions, but has a very natural fruit presence and is pretty tasty overall. An easy drinker.

Aug 9, 2008 Nice, deep ruby profile. Lots of sweet cherries and wood. Ligh vanilla notes. Supercarbonated with a very thick, tangy finish.
