| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2008 Bottled. Clear ruby color, short head. Aroma of slight oak, tart fruit, some malt. Sourish taste, bit sticky. Very typical flemish sour ale, bit dry and oaky. Though quite soft compared to american sours, as always. tronraner (1916), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Bottle. Pours a lovely deep ruby with rocky beige head. The aroma is woody sourness with a bit of a vinous fruit element, and a very distant chocolate note. The flavor is sweet fruits (berries, plum, orange, fig), a pretty strong oak component, and a tart acidity. Smooth caramel is throughout. The finish has a strange roasted note to it that lingers into a dusty aftertaste. Refreshing. BonVoeux (40), Beveren-Leie, Belgium

Redbrown ale, with a beige head. Delicious aroma sour, bit wood.
Taste was almost perfect.
Bit sour, sweet, good in balance. Some fruit and a woodiness in the aftertaste. Nice sour aftertaste with some oak that.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 22, 2008 Bottle. Low but lasting off-white head. Clear dark brown body. Acidic lemon caramel aroma with vineous notes. Sweet and spicy berries flavor, soft smooth and a bit boring. No edges. Low carbonation. Short aftertaste. OFlan (14), USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 18, 2008 Appearance:
Clear dark red/brown. NO head, just washed glass, thought I dried it well though.
Aroma:
Sour cherry/apple straight up... nothing else, pure tart in the nose
Flavor:
Well this is different. Moderate tart, very rich dark caramel/toffee flavor. Definitely some sweetness.. candi sugary sweetness. The normal fruit going on, although leaning towards the darks such as plumb.
Mouthfeel:
delicate, syrupy a bit, kinda thick, but very pleasant and well carbed
Overall:
Awesome new taste. Never had anything like it and I’m really enjoying the experience. Very satisfying flemish and I’m guessing very traditional, original and to style. mgermani (864), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2008 Pours a dark amber with a thin layer of foam. Aroma is slightly sour cherry. Good gritty brown malt backbone to this sour, refreshing and well-balanced with just enough sour to keep things interesting. Good carbonation, gentle aftertaste. The Duchess is still my favourite, but this is a very palatable sour for those not taken to the style (or puckering, for that matter).
