Tart berries, bread dough and light malt aromas come through. Very well carbonated. Slightly sour malt based flavor with some of those berry notes coming through ever so subtle. Good stuff. cheapdark (2050), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA

Sour aroma. Initial taste of old mixed fruit sitting in an old farmouse wooden barrel. Delectable carbonation. Intruiging sour flavor borders on bitter but never gets there. Yes, this is beer! Finish leaves you wanting more. No hint of any alky in this brew. Very much like gueuze lambic. drfabulous (1283), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Mmmm. Flemish red. While my wife won’t touch it, all the Duchess for me. And this little gem. Pours a deep red. The sour aroma hits your nose. While not as wonderful as Duchess, a fine second place. Lovely. More sour! LinusStick (1855), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 19/20 | Nov 27, 2007 HOLY CRAP! This beer is just about perfection. Aroma was HUGE and delicious. Sour cherry and vinegar. Pour was beautiful. Deep dark brown border line black with a huge 3 finger tan head that stayed the whole drink. Taste was amazing. It brought tears to my eyes and not just because it was so sour. Vinegar, very sour fruit and a woodiness in the aftertaste. This is mouth puckering. Decent carbonation, but could be a little stronger. That is my only criticism. Nice sour aftertaste with some oak that stays on the back of the throat. One of the best beers I’ve had all year. beerbill (1984), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2007 11.2 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with dirty_martini. Pours a clear deep ruby red with a thin and fast-disappearing off-white head. Very effervescent; I can hear the tiny bubbles breaking the surface much like a glass of soda. Very pleasant aroma of sour cherry and sweet apples. The flavor is tart, but not excessively sour, again with sour cherry and sweet apples. The flavors, combined with the effervescence, make this ale lively on the palate. I enjoyed this one. Capa (995), Yokosuka, Japan
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2007 Deep ruby red with a thin off-white head. Reminded me of grape juice. Powerful aroma of tart cherry, vinegar, and port. I do love these sour ales. Flavor is sweet cherry, fruit, some sour berries, wood. Mildly sour finish. Body is well carbonated and a tab thin. I generally prefer more sourness in the flavor than this one offers up, but an enjoyable ale none the less. unclemattie (2444), Georgia, USA

Aroma of Balsamic Vinegar. Very sour flavor! Some sweetness, like of very dark, very sour cherries. Heavy vinegar. Yum Yum.
