| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2007 Bottle: Poured reddish amber with a off white color head. Aroma is sour fruit, but if you continue to breathe past you will identify the spice hops and malt. The taste is a sweet metalic, fruit, and malt blend not as acidic as some flemish sours which suprised me. Glad I picked this one up because its just another case of giving a style another chance! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2007 thick foamy light tan head. ruby chestnut color and garnet at the edges. head goes quickly. aroma is sweet syrupy malt and over-ripe sour cherries. slightly cheesy, sweaty aroma too. high carbonation, flavor starts a bit metallic, but sweet and sour to true form with more sweet malt and a bit of acidic balsalmic vinegar. fainter sour cherry and a finish that is a bit metallic and even sweaty tasting. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 22, 2007 in bottle from Dirty John’s grocery. pours a dark brown with a purple tinge and a medium dark tan head. beer has a mild malty vinegar aroma. an apple cider flavor with a touch of sour yankee cider emerges. this beer does not smell or taste like battery acid. rather it reminds me of the PAAS vinegar-based dye for easter eggs. this beer really grows on you. it has an undercurrent of sweetness that helps move the sourness through. it finishes quite dry. at room temperature it is horridly acidic in a voltage-ready way. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Vinegar as well as icing sugar in interesting pleasing aroma. Nice taste - tart, sour, but also subdued and sweet - very accessible and drinkable. Not complex, but very tasty. Nice tart finish - maybe with even a hint of vanilla. Nice stuff, got us both off guard, it is really good! kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 21, 2007 My bottle (12oz), shared with tupalev. Pours a clear very deep ruby-brown with an average size beige head. Pleasant aroma of sour fruit, vinegar, yeast and oak well balanced by some sweetness. Nice flavour of sour cherries, a little vinous along with some sweetness, oak, dark fruit and a dry finish. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated. This one caught me by surprise, it’s a really friggin’ good Flemish Sour!
