mgermani (583), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 15, 2008 Pours a dark amber with a thin layer of foam. Aroma is slightly sour cherry. Good gritty brown malt backbone to this sour, refreshing and well-balanced with just enough sour to keep things interesting. Good carbonation, gentle aftertaste. The Duchess is still my favourite, but this is a very palatable sour for those not taken to the style (or puckering, for that matter).
TURDFERGUSON (1115), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle shared by emacgee. Thanks Ethan! Nose is strong cherry vinegar and wood. Flavor has a lot of wood character, some sweeter cherries, balsamic vinegar, a bit of raisin. Its not incredibly sour and just wasn’t very exciting for me. Not my favorite type of sour ale. GandGKevin (53), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours reddish with a nice white head. Initial taste is tart apple with a slightly sweet under tone. Very drinkable and refreshing. thomat (555), Göteborg, Sweden Aug 10, 2008 Dark, redish brown with a medium tan head. Fruity and malty tones. Some sournesss, carbonation and malt. Medium body with a nice bittersweet finiish. BoBoChamp (618), Gent, Belgium Aug 10, 2008 25cl, from Geers Oostakker, complex, yet easy to drink, clear, rocky head, good brew Dubbercody (164), Vancouver, Washington, USA Aug 10, 2008 Picked up a bottle recently, labeled best before 15-02-07...eh. Drinking it anyway.
Nice red color and great nose that pops out during the pour. Nice mild sour with a nice smoothness. It’s not tear your face off sour. It is a nice mellow sour that I’d love to be enjoying some BBQ while drinking.
