Flavour was apple and vinegar with a smooth tartness...yet not sour. Was like the distinctly more maltier cousin (or sister) beer to Duchess.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Pours a dark brown with almost no carbonation and a medium head that quickly vanishes to a thin ring around the glass. Aroma is sour apples, almost cider like. Taste is sweet and cloying, again like a cider. Finish is sweet apple and sour fruit. As a neophyte to sours I think this is one of the more benign ones I’ve sampled...however I find that I like it quite a lot. Dilemma. j12601 (1327), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Bottle. Pours a clear tar brown with a ruby hue to it and a large creamy lightly tanned beige head. Sweet, caramel, light fruit, and a touch of funk and wood. Medium bodied, and a bit too sweet for me. Not cloying, but close to it, covering up the subtle sourness and earthy wood flavors which could really shine here. Light cola flavors and a touch of cherry. Finishes up with a light sourness and a bit more sweetness. Toxygen (270), Sanford, Florida, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Pours an iced tea brown with thin white head. Aroma has loads of brett with sweet strawberry, balsamic, and a hint of caramel malt. Flavor is tart of cherry, yet sweet of strawberry and white grapes. Not as funky as I’d anticipated or hoped, but the tartness is pleasant. pompelmoes (69), Belgium

Aroma is quite vineous, with big notes of cherries and woodiness... Flavor is more complex with oak, cherry, vanilla, moderate tartness, vinegar... Sweet, with a dry finish, kind of lively, not very funky... Too Sweet for my tastes... madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England
