Pint at the brewpub. Dark pour with very thin head (bartender error?) Hard to determine aroma beacuse of the pub atmosphere. I do detect some caramel, sweet aroma. Very smooth, mild licorice flavor to start. Mellowing out to a sweet finish. Maybe some clove in this too? Enjoyable.

Pint at the brewpub. Very dark, nearly opaque, thin creamy top. Caramel-banana-vanilla in the strong, sweet nose. Nice tingly but fairly full mouthfeel, fairly sweet front, rather sour/bitter but balanced finish, bitter chocolate remains on the tongue.
