Probiere (992), Iowa, USA Jun 6, 2005 Light maple scent, bare whiff of apples. Cloudy brown-yellow. Alcohol apparent in finish, rawish. Maple and nuttiness/toast up front. Thin mouthfeel. muzzlehatch (4425), Burlington, Vermont, USA Apr 28, 2005 12 oz glass at the brewpub. Near-opaque unfiltered orange-brown with little head...nose mostly sweet apple, bit of citrus acid and biscuit, very little maple...in the body, a faint sugary maple accent enhances a rustic, quite alcoholic cidery body with thick somewhat sourish grainy malt underpinning...tingly, natural-feeling carbonation, and a nice hint of almond at the finish. NOTE: this is a completely different recipe from the previous Maple Ale, which did not have cider and was much lower in alcohol, and filtered.
