muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 31, 2007 2 draught pints at the brewpub, July 30 2007. Bright gold with a moderate, smooth snow-white head that solidly films the glass as the liquid disappears....the strong Pilsner-esque grassy Saaz character is dominent, but the rye adds a nice light extra spiciness and a hint of berries in the fine aroma....on the tongue, a beautiful balance between the spicy, bready rye, the tingly dry grassy-mineralic hop bitterness and beautifully extracted, very full, lightly sweet pale malts....a long, dry bitter finish never thins out and the strong grainy chacter is dominant throughout....this is really quite lovely, the best lager I’ve had at the Pub in quite some time, and the first new beer I can remember having seconds of on a first visit since....heck if I know. Well done!
