Dark reddy-brown, small tight head. Rich sweet malty aroma - plums, but also rich malt loaf. Quite crisp carbonation. Pretty sweet taste - like the burnt raisins stuck to the side of a cake tin after baking. Rich roasty and cakey malt. Treacle. Mirjukka mentioned Samichlaus, and I think she’s not far out. Yum. BoBoChamp (722), Gent, Belgium Jul 27, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex, balanced, hazy, good head, good brew, but not a topper Pub (4103), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jul 14, 2008 Bottled, 330ml, at t’Velootje, Ghent. Pours ruby dark and is full of licorice aroma’s. Also sweet fruits and roasted barley. Very well balanced flavors. Overall a very tasty dubbel!
