Commercial Description:
Victoria Bitter has been Australia's favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

Bottle. Not good, but maltier than most pale lagers. Flavour is sweet, with light bitterness. Aroma has some malt. Thin and watery in the palate. Dark yellow with a white head that dissipates.

Faint sweetish aroma. Pale amber with little head. Flavour is sweetish malt with some hoppy bitterness. Thin bodied. Finishes with malty sweetness and noticeable alcohol kick. Not entirely to my taste, but not as bad as I expected.

Bottle. I found a bottle of this at home and thought I might as well get it out of the way. Pours light golden yellow with a slight bubbly white head that doesn’t last. Aroma is equal parts grainy, malty and skunky. Flavour is mainly grainy with a hint of grass. Mouthfeel is a bit dry. I used to drink this a lot when I was younger - but now I know better. Drinkable on a hot day if you’re not feeling too fussy.

Slightly dusty lagery aroma. Thin palate, a bit chemical. Tihn taste, some drying huskiness and little else. Finish is more of the husks and some associated graininess. Very drying and not very refreshing. Some sourness and mushroominess too. Anna’s comment added to my review, I don’t know if it was ironic, was simple "tastes shit".

Extremely common ale all across Victoria State in Australia. Pale yellow colour, little head, not much taste beyond just some more hops and grains. The only interesting thing was what they calld their glassware, something about a "schooner" if I remember correctly.

Nice golden colour, better than most swills, and it poured with a decent head. Taste was indeed slightly bitter, but not in a bad way. I’d not heard of this beer before.

How this has gained such popularity here in Australia is beyond any understanding I have. Drink it stone cold and drink it fast as it gets worse by the second.
