This stuff is just cheap and easy to get a hold of. Nothing special about it, and it doesn’t go down that smooth. James Squire, Carlton Crown, Carlton Crown, and Melbourne Bitter are far superior Aussie Brews. This does not taste good. HenrikSoegaard (4368), Randers, Denmark

Nice flavor, moderat bitter finish. Too carbonated but an ok pale lager. LordCrabapple (83), Merseyside, England

This beer however, was not so good. Pours a light gold out of the bottle with a thin white head. Aroma is light herbal and stale hops, slightly metallic, light adjunct and corn which gave some DMS. Flavor is lightly fruity with some crisp clean bitterness and floral hop character. Meh. CanadaCam (109), Canada

At CAN$6 for a small can, I don’t know what I am thinking when I drink this stuff!! Nonetheless, I drink this when I’m at the local Aussie bar if I’m just in for a quick one
I was really looking forward to my first VB, but I was very disapointed. Just so no one else gets the wrong impression, VB is NOT, repeat NOT a bitter. It’s a lager. And not a very good lager at that. The best thing I can say about VB is that it goes down easy ... but so does water. And it tastes like an old dish-rag. Seriously, it has a slight taste of detergent to it. Many better Australian beers out there than this pish. How did this become Australia’s flagship beer? beerlady (457), lucerne, Switzerland

smells hoppy, malty, slightly metallic, some hidden smell like sweat
tasts hoppy,malty
aftertaste has something viny,a bit fruity (grapes),bot some bitterness too,
perhaps a bit more bitter than other lagers, but i expected something more bitter, the slightly viny note is the only interesting thing,

Overall not bad, I’ve heard it compared to the ’schlitz of australia’ and its a hell of a lot better than schlitz! Nicko (191), Ashfield, Australia

Appearance: more appealing on a hot summers day.
