Commercial Description:
Victoria Bitter has been Australia's favorite full strength beer brand for many years. VB, as it is widely known, was launched in the 1890s and since then has developed a reputation as a great beer with a tradition of rewarding Australians who work and play hard.

The first beer I ever drank. This doesn’t make it a good beer by any stretch, but has a special place in my heart. Appearance: more appealing on a hot summers day.

Pours yellow with almost no head. Not much of a smell, pretty watery taste and only a little bitter. Not great but goes down well on a hot day.

Yellow. A light American beer with a bad aftertaste. All the Aussies traveling abroad and talking about VB must have done it solely to dupe Americans that travel to Australia. Drank in Sydney near Chinatown.

[Bottled] Golden colour. Hops are present in aroma. Also, the good old feeling of "this is what beer smelled when I was a kid" is there. Hop flavour is detected, light bitterness.Pretty flawless. Bit dry and old fashioned. Yes, this is what lager beer tasted in the 70´s?

What more is there to be said about this beer? Perhaps only that it is slightly better than Melbourne Bitter.

After barely being able to finish my Fosters Special Bitter, I found this just a tad bit better. The aroma was on the sweet side of things with a citrusy aroma, like orange juice gone bad. Appearance was a dark reddish/brown. Mouthfeel was pretty watery. The bitterness in the drink wasn’t all that bad and perhaps the best beer I’ve had so far from Oz. I won’t be going out of my way though to find this mediocre beer as there’s plenty of that being brewerd here in the states.

[bottle from JDW] I don’t particularly have a lot to say about this beer, it doesnt really smell or taste of anything and its watery as hell. Gets you drunk if you drink enough of it i suppose :/
