I avoided this beer except when it was on special, it seemed a bit overcarbonated and bitter--especially the aftertaste which could become quite foul--but it had a healthy color. I would recommend other beers if you’re in Australia.

In the States real Aussie beer is hard to come by. Instead we get nasty Fosters and the Australian ex-pats and tourists laugh at how it’s trumped up to be a premium beer. A friend brought back a six pack for me. Drank it immediately with a neighbor on a summer day. All the postings seem to bash this beer but as a somewhat discerning beer drinker, I thought it had a nice flavor, very pleasant. Wish we could get more of it here.

Had many of these while on tour down under, that was all they had on the bus or Fosters. Bottle, Can Tab, it´s all the same, Golden color with a small head. Weak aroma and taste, not much in it. light watery body and finish.

Terrible to think that this beer is "Australia’s favorite full strength beer brand" i mean come one, packled full of preservatives, tastes like water mixed with piss, no aroma, no body to speak of, gay little bottle. Makes me realsie that Castle ain’t that bad after all!

1 in 4 beers sold in Australia is a ’VB’. Come on Australia this beer should be in another class of alcoholic beverage alongside Budweiser and Toohey’s Extra Dry. Flavour is almost of a ’Sunstruck’ nature, like copper pipes. Hops and barley, if any, are unbalanced and the beer tastes like it has sat unopened for a week. Awful.

Strange very hard to describe edge to this one which didn’t taste natural, more like a chemical addidtive.Quite pleasant appearance but quite gassy and all round one to avoid.

A bitter beer, lovingly enjoyed by Engineering students. However a bit to harsh for my palate. I only drink it when it’s subsidised or free.

The major joke (most consumed beer) of the entire trip! From the flight from LAX to SYD, the three of us (JonR888710,Haddon90 and myself) drank at least 50 of these) during our tenure in Oz. Golden coloured body with a lot of bubbles and depending on the serving style, some white head or not. Aroma of pretty bad malt, some caster sugar and very little else. Light-bodied; Mildly offensive skunky tastes with a cardboardy malt flavour and some slight sugars. Aftertaste can best be described as not pleasant. Overall, this beer most closely resembles Budweiser...but in most cases when we had it, it was free. I drank this many times in Melbourne & Sydney both, but would have prefered just about anything else.
