Aroma was a bit bready and sweet. Flavor was mostly malty with bread topping the caramel flavors. Almost no hops dectected. Mouthfeel was moderate and not overpowering. A bit too sweet for what I wanted, but enjoyable. billk (300), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, USA

| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 25, 2006 Victory All Malt Dark Lager pours to a beautiful, bright, light chestnut color with a creamy white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is incredible. Deep, toasty, slight sweet and nutty aromas are balanced with just the right amount of grassy hop aromas. The palate is firm with fantastic dark malt flavors of toast, nuts, and slighty sweet malt. The body is very round and smooth, making this an exceptionally clean dunkles. All Malt Dark Lager finishes with more of the deep malt character up front, and then drys out to perfection with a balancing grassy hop bite that slightly lingers.
Wow. Stylistically this beer is flawless, and is so drinkable, you can not help but reach for another one. This beer would make a perfect session beer, and will work extemely well with a number of dishes. You can match this with anything from a pizza, to a nice juicy hamburger, to grilled bratwurst, to a roasted chicken or pork dinner. This beer is a seasonal, so if Victory beers are available in your market it, look for this one, ask for this one, and enjoy this amazing dark lager!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2005 12 oz. bottle: This one pours a clear amber/caramel brown color, with a little off-white head on it. There is a somewhat sweet, but not too strong caramel aroma to the beer. Some floral notes also. The taste is mainly mildly sweet caramel malt. This is very smooth going down. A very nice session beer.
