Sweet malty flavor reminiscent of a Munich dunkel. Very similar to the Munich Hofbrauhaus dunkel in fact. Medium palate. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA

I guess I always expect great things from Victory, but I’m a little underwhelmed by this boring beer. Toasty malts, mildly bitter and hoppy, and minimally sweet, there’s just not much here, and the dark malt all but disappears in the "lagerish" finish. It’s kind of like drinking slightly sweetened iced tea. Lightly toasty and malty nose isn’t very aromatic. Medium bodied when first sipped, but the finish is pretty watery. Orange-brown color isn’t the prettiest, and the small light tan head fades to the tiniest of rings. I’d been trying to get my hands on this beer for years, but I feel like I’ve been missing anything during my pursuit. Bland and boring. Ungstrup (15228), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 2, 2005 An orange beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, and the flavor besides the caramel also have some roasted notes, leading to a dry end. Boring. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Best before Aug. 15, sampled September 18. I have waited to try this for years and was happy to find that it was even better than I had anticipated. Big sweet malt which came into focus and dried out perfectly with a little hop spice, a malty crack and even a bit of acidic snap. Reminds me a lot of Victory’s old All-Malt Dortmunder, actually, just a shade darker in appearance and in malt character. A new favorite. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
