| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2005 Clear brown-amber w/ fizzy, diminishing light brown foam. Aroma of caramel & raisin bread w/ underlying notes of maple syrup & vanilla that is intruded upon by a mildly soapy yeastiness. Feel is oily but thin. Flavour is moderately sweet & moderately bitter. Disappointing, especially from Victory. TomDecapolis (3202), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 1, 2005 This was the first Dunkel I’ve rated. Pours a darker amber with a small tan head. Slight aroma of malt, roasted nuts and even some prunes. Picking up the malts and slight alcohol in the taste. Some similarities to Victorys "regular" lager, although I enjoyed this one a bit more. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 28, 2005 Light off-white head quickly leaves the medium brown body. Fairly light flavors, bready maltiness pairing along an almost nutty, fruity toasted malt aspects. Good sweet-dry balance. More roastiness than most. Satisfying light body, perhaps a bit too tart, though we’re mostly talking fruit acids. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 25, 2005 Rusty orange. Noisy, jagged-edged bubbles quickly fade. Sweet plum jelly and beet sugar waft from the glass. Lesser notes of cedar and toasted dough. Prickly and fuzzy carbonation. Somewhat airy, initially. Ample toffee malt richness accompanies toasted-bread flavored malt dust which buoys the body. Quite clean, but oddly fruity at the same time, which is backed by a swift hop counterpunch that restores a sense of balance. Fruity and appetizingly dry, but understated, finish of toasty malts kissed with black licorice and woody roast accents. What few malt notes remain untainted by the fruitiness/acidity and fuzzy carbonation, are simply superb. Lovely aroma as it warms, though (particularly the earthy Munich). A few minor adjustments and this would be beyond lovely. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jul 19, 2005 Bready malt aroma is clean, pleasant and appealing. Clear brown body is topped by shy, off-white head. Bread dough and clean malt flavours with fair finishing bitterness. Medium-light body with low carbonation. A pleasant way to kick-off RBSG’05.
