Slightly sweet well balanced aroma leaning towards hoppy with grassy accents and a slight touch of lemon. Sweet well balanced flavor leaning towards hoppy but with firm malty notes. The finish is sweet yet bitter. A refreshing brew. Light bodied and slightly dry. DubbelO7 (42), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Delicious!
What a surprise this one as I bought a case of the "variety of victorys" last night.
The hop devil is nice and the golden monkey will have you behaving like one if you have too many but this lager is so well-rounded I say. I have not seen it by itself in a case.
Bummer .
I need to get a krug glass to fill with this stuff !@
Highly recommended as a mellow alternative to all the outrageous beers around today . Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA

The malt really comes through, but is somehow just not very enjoyable. The hopping was very gentle, again bringing out grassy notes, along with some hay. Reminds me oddly of Elijah Craig bourbon, which I don't care for that much either. This beer also suffers from me subconsciously comparing it to the fantastic Prima Pils. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2003 The first victory brew I'm not blown away by. Nice deep golden color and pretty white foam (though thin). Light medium body with straw and high sweet notes. For BMC drinkers, this could be a great conversion beer. A great tasting beer without big hops. boto (1345), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 29, 2003 Bottle: The beer is a slightly pale clear amber color. There is a bit of fiziness, and a quickly dissapating head. There is much malt sweetness in the aroma. The taste is also a bit sweet, but very smooth. Hardly any hops. Comperable to my other PA favorite drinking beer, Yuengling Amber. Very easy to drink a lot of these. Now if they would only put this in cans for those instances where you need them! guzzler67 (1286), Hanover, Maryland, USA

Taste was a bit on the sweet side and only lightly hopped. Bland finish. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jul 15, 2003 Deep golden color with very little head. Aroma comprised of fruit, light cotton candy, touch of spice, touch of caramel and some kind of lagery aroma that I haven't dissected yet. Fairly ful bodied for how light it is. Semi-sweet with a very light sour finish accented by caramel and nut. A very refreshing brew.
