Commercial Description:
Victory Amber Lager: Orginally made to the specifications of Pat Patton, owner of Hero's Restaurant in Manassas, VA. Victory Amber is a soft, smoot tasting beer made with an ale-style recipe using lager fermenation and conditioning techniques with the following malts: Two-Row Pale, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel. Perle, Willamette, and English Kent Golden hops are used. The beer is unfiltered and the remaining yeast, high in Vitamin B, gives the beer its unique opalescent amber color.

Victory Amber Lager pours to a bright, red/amber color with a thick, creamy white head, and a moderate amount of carbonation. A really good balance of sweet and caramel malt aromas and zesty/cirtric hop aromas flood the nose. The palate is soft and malty, with really good pale, sweet, and caramel malt flavors that glide over the tongue. This beer is very smooth, round, making it very drinkable. Victory Amber Lager finishes malty up front, then is balanced with some nice herby/citric hop bitterness that slightly lingers. This is a very polished beer with a very clean malt and hop profile. I really like this beer, it has vibrant hop and malt flavors and aromas, yet is so smooth and drinkable. I could drink a lot of this beer.

Was not expecting much from something labeled "amber lager", but my, was I pleasantly surprised. Light amber colored. Definite nose, very malty, a bit caramelish and nutty. Lovely flavor, malts are everywhere. Incredible caramel character, no thinness of any sort whatsoever. Mouthfeel was simply spectacular, soft, rich, and perfectly sticky. One of the better lagers I've ever had.

Sampled at the Old Dominion brewery, this beer is rather like Dominion Lager or Victory All-Malt Lager, but a bit richer. A big Dortmunder seemingly brewed especially for my taste. You can taste every single element of malt in this beer--what a blast. The official style description seems far off.

Had a 1/6 of this last night w/some friends.Very much like a cross between Dominion ale and lager w/a tease of caramel malt/nice spritzy hop finish. The beer was a nice orange/golden color/a tad hazy.A beer that I didn't care for the first pint around but it grew on me by the second.Overall this is a very tasty sesion brew with a horrid hangover waiting for any who indulge in large quantities(Beware!)Nice fat head and nice lace.

Victory opens with a Munich malt aroma, subdued hops, and a fluffy head. More yeast than usual does not detract here, giving the beer a more alelike character. The light carbonation and hops do not quite balance the full, sweet malt flavor, but this blends very well.

on tap-pours a thin white head and slightly hazy amber color. Aroma is medium malt. Taste is medium malt-some sweet, yeast, secondary hops bite. OK carbonation.

Deep golden/straw in color, with hopcit, malt, and slightly gin-like aroma. Tastes malty, with hops, citrus, some toffee, and cabernet at the finish. Not bad at all.
