There is a nice herbal/spicy character that reminds me a bit of root beer. Heavy cocoa and a toasty/roasty character. There is a soft herbal hoppiness that accents the roastiness. A pretty prominent fruity aroma/flavour that works for me. It’s a pretty nice beer although it might be a little sweet. Nice complexity though. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 23, 2008 Draft that I am drinking right now. Pours dark brown toward black with dark brown edges and off-khaki head. Nose is roasty rauchy dark malt, chocoff, tobacco. Tastes roasty, rauchy, with a solid dark chocolate flavor. Almonds and Wheaties emerge late, giving this one a well balanced and very flavorful lifespan. I’m glad I growlered this one. egajdzis (3636), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
