| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Not too impressed. A very one sided beer - malty and sweet taste. Not much else going on. Surprisingly thin for the strength. Alcohol and dark fruit in the flavor. A little too sweet. Light carbonation. Needed something else. BOLTZ7555 (1113), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Clear mahogany pour that created a tightly packed 1/2 inch latte head that reduced to a milky coating that floated atop the brew. Extremely spotty lacing. Aroma is brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, and dark fruit. Might even have a hint of soy in there. Flavor is dark toasted malt and caramel with a noticeably hoppy finish. Not a bad brew but not fantastic. nick76 (2684), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2009 The aroma is nice with chocolate, toasted malt, and some dark fruit. The appearance is brown with an average sized head. The flavor is like the aroma with plenty of alcohol. The palate is a bit thin. Overall it’s a fine beer. Palidor19 (1792), Brandon, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 11, 2009 solid tasting beer. pour nice and smooth but not overall exciting in terms of color nor mouth feel. taste heavy of the caramel with lots of dark fruits. highly malty yet lacks anything totally outstanding. Still very good to drink. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Best by 12/31/08. Light brown-red hints with a thin off white tan head. Aroma is lightly bitter, roasty malts. Taste is again bitter roasted malt, chocolate bark, somewhat vegetal. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is dried nuts and dark chocoalte, and an earthy leathery dry toasty malt backbone - some herbal hops. sligth fruity ester profile, with a lot more dried cobwebgby and slightly stale dark charred malts and chocolate malts- slight roast and coffee- a bit vegetal and flowery with a drying slightly stale finish. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Night black body, with lightly creamed head. This oozes aromas of light roast, raisins, caramel, and candi fruit. The flavor is a wonderful panoply of chocolate roast, deep, vinous raison, caramel, and candi fruit. Exquisitely balancing a raft of flavors and a soothing, intoxicating undercurrent of warm alcohol. The best American Baltic Porter sampled to date by a long shot. Outstanding. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Victory Baltic Thunder pours up with indignation & exuberance. The abundant carbonation creates a mountainous tawny colored head that sits prominently atop the deep russet-dark brown colored body. The rich caramel & roasted malt aroma is mostly dominated by chocolate that’s reminiscent of cocoa nibs & café mocha with some earthy spiciness that hints of Bourbon vanilla, licorice root, Noble hops, and star anise. Very clean with a vinous, port wine quality. The roasted coffee flavor starts off slightly sweet & toasty with nuances of malted milk chocolate & toffee. There’s an underlying herbal bitterness along with some ever present earthiness which imparts complexity and brings balance to this admirable brew. The bittersweet mocha finish is slightly rough and noticeably warming. This medium-full bodied Baltic Porter is a finely crafted example of the style, but lacks some finesse. A bit of cellaring should "hammer" out the rough edges. Here’s to Perkunos, the God of Thunder!
