adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 11, 2008 On draft at the GL. Pours a clear light copper with a medium white head. Aroma of grapes, hops and grains. Taste of watery green grapes with a hoppy aftertaste. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 23, 2008 Draft at Victory. Pours dark straw with nose of hopcitrus, some grainy malt, spices. Tastes mildly hoppy, orange zesty, with cereally malt, and mild spiciness, and a medium to light palate that loses aroma and flavor notes as it warms. This one is not bad, but not great either. PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 23, 2008 Tap at Barcade: Deep golden pour with a fading off-white head. Has a nice sweet/citrusy hop character in the aroma with some caramel soaked oranges. The flavor has some American hop notes upfront- mildly perfumy orange and subtle peach. The malt character comes through later on giving it some mild toasted notes, with a nutty touch, yet it remains fairly clean. The finish has a balancing, seemingly Euro-hop dryness. Well rounded. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Sep 21, 2008 Tap at Barcade. Normally I am very unenthusiastic for small batch victory beers and wouldn’t go out of my way for them, but I’d just mentioned in the forums the day before hearing of this beer that I’d go out of my way for any Steam Beer that showed up, as the style is so rare. Well, I had no choice at that point, so I made the trek for this. Blech. Deep copper pour with a flimsy head. Very clean aroma, german hops, peanut. Fresh, clean flavor, some big steam. Drinkable, but kind of boring. I will say that it does the style very well. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Sep 21, 2008 Tap at Barcade. Amber gold colour. Lightly malty aroma topped by a kiss of grapefruity cascadey hops. Fairly clean with a touch of soft fruitiness. A bit of light cascadey hop flavour. Good balance, pretty solid brew. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Sep 15, 2008 From the tap poured a clear amber color with a small head. Nice refreshing flavor slightly malty with a quick finish. michael-pollack (2603), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 8, 2008 Draught at TDR Ex.: Aroma of malts, grains and fruity hops. Poured amber with a hint of gold in color and a creamy, rocky, white head that lasted throughout. Clear. Not sparkling. Small lacing. Flavor was light to medium sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of malts, rye, pretzel, grains, and bitter hops. Medium body. Lightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Malty, medium-dry finish. TomDecapolis (3130), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 1, 2008 On tap at Victory. Pours a translucent golden amber with a creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma...I really didn’t get a whole lot. Some grains, light caramel and citrus. Flavor was much of the same. REally not much going on. An enjoyable beer...just nothing special.
