Commercial Description:
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

Draught at Tylers Taproom in Carrboro. Pours a dark brown with copper edges and a moussey nitro head. Nose is earthy, nutty, leafy hops, mild roast. Flavor is earthy malt with mild roast, some diacetyl, metallic hops, light roast character. Creamy mouthfeel with a light body.

On tap @ Victory. Dark brown with a tan creamy head. Light roasty aroma with a touch of smoke. Sweet flavor with some roasty bitterness. Medium to light body with a creamy soft mouth feel but a bit thin and watery in the finish. Not a bad beer, just a bit watery.

Draft. Dark brown to near black pour. Aroma ashy malts, light coffee, and roasted malt. Taste is more roasted malt, ashy notes, light coffee, and light chocolate. Body is creamy and soft with light carbonation. Ends with more roasted with malt, coffee, ashy notes and light cocoa. Not too bad.

Draft at Blind Tiger. Pours near black with a creamy nitro head. Light roasty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Roasted malty flavor, light chocolate with an earthy hint. Slight acidity. Pretty true to the dry stout style.

A very thin and sad stout compared to the storm king. a different style of course, but I prefer the heavier creamier stouts to the dry stuff.

Tap. Poured dark brown, medium light brown head. Aroma was lightly roasted malts, hint of hops. Coffee, roasted malt notes in the flavor. Nice smooth mouthfeel. Highly drinkable dark beer. A winner!

On tap at Bilbo Baggins in Alexandria, VA. Pours a deep ruby with a one finger tan nitro head. Aroma is light and subdued but roasty, cocoa. Taste is light to medium bodied with cocoa, malted milk balls, and some chocolate covered strawberries. Sweet, refreshing flavor rather than heavy roasted, typical stouts flavors. Clean finish. Lackluster but enjoyable.
