Commercial Description:
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

Draft. Very dry stout with low alcohol and tons of malts that are pleasantly unrefined malts. Oats, malt, grains, barley -- all with a nice roast. Not as smooth as many stouts in the category. Light coffee and bitter chocolate, with some light fruiting from the hops.

Not very good. Watery, plain, not much flavor. Struck me as a Guinness clone gone wrong. Chalky; not strongly, but still unpleasantly bitter; nice dark/creamy appearance; disappointing.

Draft, Rustico. Pours a dark brown color; creamy light tan head with great retention and lacing; very similar to Guinness, from the beginning. Burnt and toasted malts in the aroma; slightly watery. Creamy, slightly light, very drinkable; a lighter bodied version of Guinness with an emphasis on toasted malts and bread. Some bitter chocolate coming through mid-palate; I could drink a lot of this.

At brewery. Poured a thinish black body with a nice frothy off- white head. The aroma is quite week with some bitter coffee and lactic notes. Flavor is moslty old bitter dry coffee with some subtle hints of earthy hops and mild sour milk. Not at all a fan of the style.

Draft at the Irish Pub. Pours with a classic nitro stout appearance, smooth black body and a silky creamy lacing of white head. Aroma was unwelcoming and smelled like a mixture of weak chocolate malt and sour milk. Palate on this one didn’t seem smooth from the nitro but just seemed flat. Weak flavor of stale hops and weak malt. Not sure if this was just a really old keg or just a really boring beer.

I enjoyed it because this is a mild stout. Something you can drink with food. It is not a meal in itself.

Draft at Victory - One of my favorite things about Victory is that all their beers pour and taste incredible at the brewery. No small accomplishment considering how many brewers fail at this seemingly simple task. This was no different. The taste is very mild with some coffee and chocolate flavors present. I suppose the limited complexity is due to the low alcohol. An everyday stout.

Not a standout type beer, but wildly drinkable! Man does it go down easy. I’d prefer this over Guinness any day.
