Commercial Description:
The tastiest dark brew since the rollicking days of the infamous Donnybrook Fair, Donnybrook Stout offers unparalleled refreshment for an ale so deep in flavor and intrigue. Fresh, whole flower British and Slovenian hops provide the proper, earthy hint of 'the auld sod' while deep roasted barley and low alcohol keep Donnybrook Stout clean, smooth and flavorful. Served on mixture of 75% nitro and 25% CO2.

Enjoyed on tap at Victory’s brew pub. Not too much going on here for a stout; probably the lightest stout I’ve ever had. Stout Light... could be trouble. Thank god for the low alcohol percent because one can definately down a few of these without thinking (try that with Victory’s Storm King...). Definately sample (at least) if you go to the pub... I tried to take it home in a growler but the server wouldn’t let me. A shame.

Draft pint at the brewpub. Exceptional cascade of a head on this nitro pour. The firm white head clings heartily as it recedes. Very light roasty aroma. Likewise in flavor, this is a restrained example ... lightly roasty, a hint of coffee-laced bitterness. Quite drinkable. (#3194, 11/10/2007)

Pitch black ale served on nitro and looking just like it. It offers a rather clean, roasted aroma with the quite typical gazy dark chocolate tones more than coffee. Dry on the palate. Medium bodied and creamy textured. I don’t know what to think, rather weak-flavoured, but muted from the nitro obviously.

On draft at Capone’s. (nitro ?) Pours a muddy brownish black with a creamy brown/beige head. Tons of lacing. Weak aroma of malts and nuts. Smooth and creamy flavor of light malts, nuts and barley. Nothing special here.

Cask pint at Zeno’s Real Ale Fest. Thin tan head on a cola colored dark brown body. Thin coffee and burnt/char aromas, with heavy notes of old, soggy coffee in the nose. Texture is very weak and thin by cask beer standards, with heavily astringent coffee and chocolate and char, with more of that old, stale coffee ground note. Finishes thin, weak and wet. This is really a terrible beer to offer on cask, and it didn’t sit well in my stomach at all.

on nitro-pours a full creamy light brown head that laces after the cascading finished and black color. Aroma is dark malt, roasty. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/coffee, secondary acidity/bitterness from hops. Soft carbonation. Nice, not my style.

a hop head stout. licorice and very slightly burnt chocolate stout that is heartily encased in a refreshingy clean emulsion of slightly, creamy seltzery water. good mouthfeel that is bubbly amd refreshing (with good body). clean substantial finish. 3 step flavor profile...very good here (manhattan nyc) from the tap.

Sampled on draft at the Rivertowne Pub in North Huntingdon PA this beer poured a black color with a small creamy khaki head. The aroma was bitter, lightly roasty and had a moderate floral hop note. The flavor was very bitter, moderately roasty and rather dry with a noted floral hop element. The finish was long and quite bitter.
