Aroma has a bit of nuttiness. The flavor is a little thin and disappointing. A little bit of roasted malt and a slightly bitter finish. Otherwise not much else happening especially for a stout. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 15, 2009 I didn’t care about the ABV, but what I did care about was the fact that this reminded me of Guinness. Very much watered down if you ask me. The best part about this was the coffee/ash flavor that the beer had. A nice dark black beer with a decent head. Not too bad looking, but the beer is TOO watery. I cannot get over this fact. I think that if they are going to make this it needs to have more body to it, but I realize they are going for the Guinness-type beer. I am not a fan of Guinness ergo I am not really a fan of this type of stout. I loved the ash and coffee flavors, and the look of it, but not a favorite of mine. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Feb 13, 2009 This one didn’t do much for me. Poured from the tap to a dark brown with medium tan head that lingered awhile and left okay lacing. Nose and taste were botrh a faint chocolate malt and the mouthfeel was fairly flat and watery. At only 3.7% abv, there was no noticeable alcohol, and the finish was short and non-descript. GAManiac (1182), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Nitro at Leon’s Full Service served in a Donnybrook pint glass.
Pours dark, dark chocolate brown with a massive creamy nitro head that lingers for the duration and leaves good lacing. It’s like a lighter version of Guinness.
The aroma is very sedate on this one with some dark chocolate malts and little else.
The taste is a slight step up from the aroma with a more noticeable chocolate presence and more sweetness overall. The finish is dry and roasty.
The mouthfeel is thin and slightly watery with soft carbonation.
This is a decent dry stout but it’s nothing to write home about. Oakes (8108), gone rambling, Cambodia
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Near black. Thin head. Lots of coffee on the nose, like good drip stuff. Light palate has some toast and hulled grains. This hits an authentic Irish spot, with light chocolate, little roast. Creamy body without nitrogen - always appreciated. Well, I don’t enjoy Guinness but I did enjoy this. Beershine (2710), Traipsing Around, Cambodia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 6, 2009 Draught @ The Distillery, Savannah. Rich black with thick tan head. Abundant coffee, asphalt and coffee aromas. Finishes thin with slight acidity. Unripe and does not deliver on the aroma or appearance. Thin and underdeveloped. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2009 Pours opaque and black with a nice thick white head. Coffee aroma. Not a lot of flavor but what’s their has a hint of coffee. Too thin for me. Essentially a Guinness clone.
