Commercial Description:
With a bracing, firm hop presence this classic, British 'Extra Special Bitter' features the beguiling interplay of tangy hops and the fruity overtones of our special yeast. Rich, imported British malts add depth of character. Fuller in body that an average 'session' beer, this amber ale satisfies fully. Draft only.

On cask at Capital Ale House - Downtown. Clear copper amber color with a medium frothy off-white head. Citrus and grassy hop aroma with faint caramel. Strong citrus and grassy hop flavor, light caramel, and a firm lasting bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a dry bitter finish.

Draft from the hand pumps at Capital Ale House. A cloudy red/orange with a small white head. Citrusy lemmon-like and floral aroma. Flavor is hop accentuated of citrusy, floral, and piney hops with enough caramel malt background to support. Light mouthfeel, moderately carbonated, with some residual hop bitterness in the finish. Very nice american interpretation of an ESB that would make a good session beer.

Draught: Sweet aroma is malty and smells of floral hops, nuts, grains, and fruit. Poured amber in color with a medium-sized, creamy, rocky, white head. Lightly sparkling. Clear. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tasted of floral hops, crystal malts, caramel, brown sugar, nuts, fruit, and 12-grain bread. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish. Overall, not very bitter.

Flour City Brefest ’06’. Alot of hoppy beers at this years brewfest. Amber in color. Hoppy aroma. There was some tangy flavor to this one that was different then the rest.

On tap at Andy’s. beaconstreet spent a semester in London and so I guess he knows something haha. From my personal experience however, I find this to be a delicious, refreshing, and very well hopped beer. I really should have had more.
