Oct 24, 2007 Sampled at the Newtown Brewfest from the tap. Amber color with thin head. Aroma of sweet malts and a touch of hops. Flavor was sweet with caramel malts, a bit of honey and a slightly bitter hop finish. Not bad, but not too exciting.

Oct 21, 2007 Coppery reddish orange, just the mere-est stain of an off white head. Toasty, vaguely sweet aroma. Toasty, grainy, with a mellow caramel flavor. Nice, woodsy, crisp finish.

Oct 18, 2007 Pours bright, clear orange-red, with a tiny head that disappears quickly. Aroma of lightly toasted malts and and some grapey fruitiness. Mild sweet malty flavor with some white grape notes, honey and a moderately dry finish. Light-to-medium bodied with low (almost flat) prickly carbonation. Pretty easy drinking and reasonably true to style, but not exceptional.

Oct 18, 2007 The first lager I’ve had in a while, and certainly not a disappointment. Victory does a good lager. Muted fruit flavors, like grapes, and maybe even a little smokiness. Medium to light body, very creamy texture, fine bubbles, leaves a little sticky dry on the palate. Hops edging towards a certain sourness, but definitely making a positive appearance.

Oct 16, 2007 Color is a deep amber with a thin white head. Taste is decently hoppy for an oktoberfest. Otherwise not too much distinctive flavor to seperate it from other beers of the style. I’d call it above average, makes for a decent session beer for the season.

Oct 16, 2007 Color is a very pretty red amber with a maltball-colored light tan head. Faint malty aroma, possibly of wet hay and immature green apples. Medium, chewy body with smooth lightly hopped flavor, but not too flavor overall. A beer suitable for the fall season of warm and cool days: The medium body of fallen leaves and the very light aroma of the impending dry wintry air give it two balanced dimensions that match the changing season. I’d say it’s a great beer to have a few of while sitting around with a couple of old friends while watching the game on a lazy Sunday.
