| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a Macro-ish,yellow color with a surprisingly (for a Tripel ) small 1/2 finger head which disappears immediately into a modest lace. What’s not unexpected is the level of carbonation..there’s a sparkly effervescence. Aroma is dry and somewhat citrusy. 1st sip reveals the dry citrus character with a hint of spice and quite a bit of alcohol. Moutfeel is tingly, and there’ a dry finish with a good bit of alcohol heat. It’s drinkable, but not sessionable...the alcohol is just too hot to have more than one or two. All-in-all, this is not the best tripel i’ve ever had. Also, not my favorite offering from Victory.

Has a strong fruity and herbal aroma with a slight bready malt backbone. Flavor is smooth and spicy, lots of herbal belgian characteristics. Some pear or apple, moderately dry. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2009 bottle The color is a golden orange with a small/medium sized head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel, honey, oranges and coriander. This beer is as complex and flavorful as any belgium beer I have ever sampled. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Draught at Flying Saucer Houston. Served in a goblet. Yellow golden with minimal head. Tropical fruit aroma with similar flavor that is a bit more spicy. Somewhat dry on the finish. Not bad but not the best Tripel I have had. basewars (145), Albany, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Pours clear golden. Medium white head. Rapidly dissipating. Aroma is mostly apple, and a bit of banana. Thin mouth feel. Flavor has a lot of apple and maybe some citrus. Alcohol is very well hidden. Nice beer, but not a great tripel. bluemooner (237), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Straw yellow pour with a hazy body and medium, creamy white head which lingers. Aroma is light fruits, yeast, grassy hops, and citrus. Flavor is more grassy, earthy hops, citrus, banana, other fruits, bready yeast, grain or straw, and spices. Medium body with some carbonation and a slightly bitter, alcohol finish. Alcohol overall is hidden quite well I believe; mostly noticeable on finish. This is a good beer overall. fidelis83 (729), Clinton, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Pours a pale, slightly hazy gold with high effervescence and a 1 finger (chalice) creamy white head that has great retention. Aroma is grassy hops, musty citrus, sweet grain, peppery yeast, bready yeast, crab apple and a little planty/herbal note. Flavor is grass, dusty grain, toasted french bread, sweet bread spices, straw, lots of alcohol hotness and some slight bitterness, and spices. Palate is pretty slick throughout with an apropriate heavy carbonation, this stuff is just way too slippery though. Overall this is a passable tripel but it has a few problems that I just can’t get past that bring it’s score down.
