| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 5, 2008 Pours a pretty nice golden color with a nice white head that stays for the whole glass. Smell has banana, some clove, lots of breadiness, there seems to be some pepper-like spices. As it warms more, the smell has a sour apple and overripe fruit smell to it as well. Taste starts out with a combination of apricot and banana, moving into some clove and a spicy bread finish. Medium carbonation and medium to full body. Pretty nice, I would probably have this once and a while, worthy of a try. daknole (2960), Plantation, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 2, 2008 This is a really great beer. Creamy, yeasty, and just plain bad ass. I could kill a sixer of this easily. Give me more! BuckeyeBoy (1670), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2008 bottle. Pale amber color with plenty of bubbly active carbonation. Small fizzy head that foams up a little bit then fades quick to a nice ring. Aromas of sweet sugar cubes and some peppery spicy notes. Flavors of black pepper, bready yeast, some rock candy sweetness, and some fruity phenols. Some booze heat on the back end. Very nicely balanced flavors. Palate could use some help... slick and oily, sharpened by the booze. Overall pretty good though. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Aroma is citrusy and alcoholic. Pours almost wine looking until you get more in the glass. Nice white head, hazy yellow in color with plenty of bubbles though little to no carbonation in the taste. Flavor is definitely smooth spices and banana with a hint of orange in it. Smooth beer with plenty of flavor that does not linger long making you reach for more. Very drinkable 9.5%. JaPe (69), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Spicy - slight hops flavor. VERY smooth and easy to drink despite the livley bubbles. THis beer is sublte and smooth it does not taste like like 9.5% ABV at all. Very nice.

This is an old rating I’ve been meaning to get to. Spice and bitterness right up front-clove and banana. Alcohol is too prominent in the profile for my liking. The spices are also very intense. Extreme. That being said it is a beer that should be explored for the sake of tasting the raw power of the Monkey. lowgun1212 (82), Montclair, New Jersey, USA
