Probably the best example of the american belgian trippel that i’ve tried so far. PLEASE INCREASE YOUR DISTRUBUTION!! i’m so sick of these macro brews peddling their piss water when there is stuff like this out there ansermadide (522), Kyle, Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Updated: May 16, 2008Lovely head, and the beer... has flakes of floaties! I love it! Cloudy orange/yellow color. Smells like a hefeweizen, a little like lemon/citrus? Grapefruit, maybe? No se. Very fun to drink. Warming on the back of the throat. Almost like an imperial wheat... is that possible? Didn’t really remind me of an abbey tripel, but if that’s what they want to call it... then I suppose it is. Highly recommended, though. jimbowood (962), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2008 bottle. A little too sweet for my taste. Not awful, but wouldn’t want more than one. Average. DubC5000 (202), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Strange that I found such a sour ale so refreshingly enjoyable. The aroma smelled strongly of tropical fruit like guava, mango, peach and citrus, along with rich wheat fragrance. The flavor was strong coriander and lemon rind/peel, along with a musty and woody yeast taste, with an astringently sweet aftertaste. The ale had a smooth and velvety mouthfeel as a result of low bitterness and carbonation.
It seems odd that this beer is classified as a Tripel because of the sourness. The beer is lemon yellow in color with a wall of bubble lacing. johndavidj99 (123), Township, Maine, USA
