It’s aroma smells likes apple juice. It’s appearance looks like apple juice. It’s taste is like apple juice with spice and obvious liquour qualities. It’s feel well, it’s so so. It’s not bitter, and that was what saved it for me. I’m not thrilled, but I’m not disgusted it’s ok. Not one I’d try again. Juancho (225), Clearwater Beach, Georgia, USA

Subdued aroma, amber/yellow color wiht a white head. It’s a dry, clovy, spicy bear with a good deal of belgian character. gallac30 (29), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Aroma of floral and exotic spices. Pours with an amber/red color and fair amount of head. Flavor is reminisecent of berries, cloves and hops offering an impressivly spicey and fruity experience. For a beer with such an alcohol content the mixture of ingredients hides it very well. OMPHALOSKEPSIS- From the Greek: omphalos (navel) + skepsis. Someone who engages in navel-gazing, and omphaloskeptical, meaning to be in a self-absorbed state. sawyej26 (18), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Bottled. Strong yeast and spice fragrance. Pours pure amber with decent head. Excellent spicy wheat, Belgian yeast, and understated German malts over a complex fruit presence with an dry clove finish and alcohol presence that will leave you truly pondering the meaning of omphaloskepsis. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Typical yeasty hop aroma of a tripel, hints of citrus and spices too. Pours hazy, light gold with almost no head to speak of. Well pronounced stages to this beer’s flavor although I’m not sure I like them all... The sweet fruity start gets kicked out by a heavy spiced sensation that leaves you with a strong taste of alcohol that fades away pretty quickly into an almost slightly bitter finish. Bottle was a little old and the beer showed a little flatness, probably would have been better a month ago. Also tasted shortly after La Fin Du Monde.
