boquet reminded me alot of Allagash trippel reserve.
This beer tastes younger (May '03 bottle) and is a little thin.
The hops are still apparent midway through which I like. Why can't my distributor
get more Victory? I have been cut off in upstate NY TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2004 Dark golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is dry and mildy Belgian. Body is spicy with clove and pepper. Has a moderate bitterness throughout and a dry yeasty finish that helps to mask the alcohol. A decent attempt at the style, but I was a little disappointed. aracauna (2422), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2004 This is probably one of Victory's better attempts at Belgian styles. They rock with lagers and Americanized styles like IPA and Imperial Stout, but they've been a little weak on the Belgian side. Not bad, just not great. This is a dark brown with a good malt sweetness and nice yeasty fruit flavors. I keep picking up flashes of dried apricot. I wish I'd had more to drink to see if I could have picked up more. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 22, 2004 Pours a golden amber appearance. The aroma is very fruity and sweet, playing with your nose with all the complexities. Smells of sweet flowers. The flavor is very yeasty, with lots of candi sugars. The mouthfeel is slightly thin though, that is the only disappointment. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2004 750 ml bottle, shared with Tidiaguy (thanks Mike!). Massive head, darkish translucent orange. Nose starts out spicy tart-apple, gets a little softer as time flies. Very heavily carbonated, leading to light initial mouthfeel. Strongly yeasty throughout, peppery alcohol present, spicy and slightly woody (or could that be the cork that fell in?); good sweet-sour balance. It's fine; I just don't know what to write to distinguish it from other stronger, darker Belgian ales. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2004 hazy orange bleeding to mysterious glazed red...a thin head and solid halo top things off...thick yeasty aroma, faint yet heavy with hints of green apple, caramel, must, dust, and a touch of sugar...Big confusing flavor bundle of yeast, alcohol, apple-like malts, and bitter green hops...pretty high level of carbination...somewhat dry ending leaving an alcoholic bitterness in the mouth with burps of melted styrofoam almost like the Stone 03 Vertical Epic..?
