Commercial Description:
Sensual splendor in the form of a Belgian inspired ale of vast appeal. Wonderfully aromatic in its seduction of the senses. So simple in its creation, so magnificent in its maturity, this wonderful ale begins with Nature’s most humble offerings, water, malted grains and hops. Our soulful yeast breathes life and depth into each brew. The steady hand of time orchestrates this alchemy into the splendid ale before you.

2003 corked bottle. Off-white frothy head, probably large from some bottle agitation... fades to a thin dusty covering. Hazy orange/amber body. Full belgian fruity aroma with clove sugar cookie. Tastes like yummy belgian orange kool aid with spicy honey. I hate describing beers like this. It is pretty complex and hard to pick it all up. But it is very well balanced, and really tastes like a yummy classic belgian ale.

Cleveland Local Gathering. Thanks to Mike McCallister for bringing this bottle and eliminating it from my "want" list! Light orange pour with slightly off tan foamy head. Malty aroma that leans a bit to the fruity side, also with some citrus notes and yeast. Malty, smooth profile, with flavors of honey, alcohol, sweet orange peel, estery yeast, and other mystery spices. Finishes a touch acidic and spicy.

Bottle. Dark goldem orange with a huge fluffy white head. Nose: honey and citrus. Taste: honey, vanilla, caramel, miixed citrus and spice, all nicely balanced.

Corked & Caged (Bottled on May 15, 2003): Explosive cork removal resulting in a bubbling overflow from the bottle…quickly pours with a hazy, golden garnet body and a full off-tan, bubbly head. Sweet, honeyed alcohol aroma with yeast esters, and an interesting tanginess. Tingly palate, well developed from the bottle conditioning…toasted grains, along with a fresh sourness add a good flavour to the lively mouth feel. Fruity (apricot) notes, take shape after a while on the tongue and a bit of iron and metallic acidity is noticeable through the finish. A hop resin bitterness rounds out a pretty good Belgian Style Ale…

Large, rocky, off-white head over a cloudy, amber-orange color. Yeasty aroma, mildly fruity, with a sweetness to it. Spicy, soft fruit (melons), sweet taste with a full bodied mouthfeel. Smooth, creamy, and moderately carbonated, with a spicy finish that was a little peppery. 2003 vintage, purchased at their brewpub.

Bubbly golden copper. Malty, spicy, candi sugar, spritzy, fruity, herbal - this one’s got it all, put together in a bubbly concoction - maybe just a little too bubbly, I wanted to smack some of that carbonation out of there! Thanks to MikeMcallister for bringing this. (Cleveland Rater Gathering, 2/2005)

Pours tan honey with gorgeous head. Smells of honey, clove, citrus. Flavor blows my mind: lime, orange, grapefruit, touch of caramel, candi, yeast, cinnamon. Finish sweet, mellow honeyed lavender goodness. Boo-yah!

May 15, 2003 bottle. Orange in color as well as aroma. Intense flavor, great combination of yeast, nuts, dried fruit. Finishes cidery and sour in the back of the tongue. Very complex and interesting.
