Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Bottle courtesy of sebletitje. It pours hazy opaque gold with big bubbled white head. The aroma is wheat, spice and a bit of apple, a bit of raisin and more spice. The taste has notes of sweet apple and plum mixing with wheat and faint bubble gum. To the midway point it gets slightly spicy and then finishes with a bit more wheat. Nice.

Thanks sebletitje for the share. Pours an orange-gold with a white head. Nose is citrusy- orange, lemon, grapefruit, and tangerine. Flavor is similar with lemon and lime notes emerging. Very light, fizzy, and refreshing. Yeast plays a part in the drama, but does not dominate. Very easy-drinking saison.

Translucent orange in appearance. It pured easily, and it poured well. This has a nice and fairly pungent fruity smell. Very carbonated beer. I am not a huge fan of very carbonated beer, but this is good and has a strong yeast and fruit tate. Nice texture, for this saison. I love that fruity and yeast aronga. Overall, this beer is really good. I enjoy the fruity and yeast taste, and I appreaciate that the carbonation was difficult to deal with.

(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Straw gold color with a very thin layer of white foam. Aroma is spicy, peppery, and sweet with hints of honey, yeast, and citrus. Flavor is spicy at the beginning with lots of pepper and citrus. The middle has a smooth and light sweetness of honey and toffee mixed with some of the spice and pepper. Finishes dry and tart with a lingering sweetness. Very nice.

Bottle, about a year and a half old. Pours bright gold with a thin head. Spicy aroma with some fruity and honey like sweetness. The flavor has nice balance with spices, banana like fruit and a nice dry yeasty presence. Very good.

750 ml bottle in Duvel glass. Foamed over when opened. Pale orange with lasting head and lace. Spicy sweet fruity lemon aroma. Orange and honey and melon sweet strong fruitiness with mild tobacco bitterness. Medium body and not much interior carbo, perhaps because of foam over. Pretty good for an American saison. A little heavy in the body and slightly thick in the mouthfeel. Still good.
