Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

750 ml, bottled Jul 03, 2007. Little sea monkey yeasties floating in this orange-amber beer. Quarter inch, lasting cap leaves behind creamy frosting. Aromas of orange peel, banana, papaya, peppery resin and earthy yeast. Flavors of clove-banana, papaya, brown sugar, pear and apple are well-checked by peppery citrus zest, light oak and some evergreen resin. Light-medium body is soft but has some spice-hop tingle and finishes dry.

from a 750, thanks for sharing, theisti. The body was cloudy medium gold. The aroma was sweet apples and leather. There was also a little spice hint, maybe cinnamon. The taste was sweet cake donuts with some pears. There was also a nice woody dryness. A decent brew, but overall a little boring.

750, corked and baled. 2005 bottle. Thanks, Skoi! Not a great saison for aging, evidently, but the style is suitable for aging, so it’s still ratable. Pours a cloudy caramel amber with lots of floaties and no head. Big weird yeasty nose--oranges, mold, wet grass. Fizzy medium body. Virtually neutral mid-palate, totally empty finish.

Bottle shared by theisti. Pours a golden-amber with a thin white skin and spotty lace. The nose is of sweet citrus, pears and candy sugar with a nice Belgian yeast note in support. Light to medium-bodied and slick with tongue-tickling carbonation and a clean fruity finish. The flavor follows the nose yielding a very straight-forward and drinkable saison. Thanks for sharing this with us, Tim. :)

750 ml bottle courtesy of Thaichile. Brewed on date of july 03 07 stamped on the bottle. Pour is cloudy orange yellow with a bunch of dusty floaties. Aroma of earthy straw, herbal, floral and candi sugar yeastiness. Taste is grainy wheat earthiness, tangy sweet slightly sour yeastiness and finally the candi sugar. Palate is full and mouth coating. Nicely done Saison, thanks for sending this my way Mark!
