Commercial Description:
The radiant energy of the sun gives life to all that we enjoy. Flowing field of barley for malting, surging vines of ripening hops and even pure, clean water owe their vitality to the sun. Just as we do. So in crafting this unique, hazy orange-hued ale, we poured in nature’s great gifts of German malts and European hops to feed the dynamic yeast that we imported from Belgium. Here in the quiet tanks of Victory our yeast brought vitality to this Belgian style farmhouse ale. That energy has created impressions that range from lemon peel to black pepper, though such spices are not added. Great with a wide array of foods, count on the bright soul of Helios Ale to bring life to all of your meals!

Very solid effort from Victory, whose Belgian styles have been hit or miss of late. It’s a more fruity, buttery brew than one customarily associates with saisons, but there’s enough grass and earthy stuff happening, with mild spicing, to make it all work. Big body, generous head, and in general a solid beer.

750 mL bottle, dated July 3, 2007. Pours very cloudy gold with disappearing whitish head. The aroma is oatmeal, farm, strawberry, and pork. The flavor has a zesty kick at first, then some farmy hay notes, significant amounts of earth, and a tingly hoppiness throughout. The finish is honeyish and leaves a spicy aftertaste. Prickly mouthfeel.

Bottle. 2005 vintage. Pours a thick/pulpy yellow-gold body with a white bready head. Fruity orange/citrusy aroma, syrup sweetness, and dark bread. Lots of carbonation considering the age... fruity but alas, it’s quite thin. Dusty spices and fruit character along with some alcohol. Slight papery oxidation is noted as well.

Nose :Sweet honey, sour farm year , green tart apple , wet hay with grain silos.
Flavour/Palate : Fairly crisp and well carbonated especially if you are looking at 2 year plus sample, Soft grain-fruit character shown in the middle. Fresh apple shown on second take. Refreshing crisp ale.

Hazy golden orange colored ale with a fluffy white head that stays with me the whole time. There’s a hint of wet hay in the aroma along with some lemon peel. There is a sugared lemon accent on this otherwise generically funky saison that keeps things interesting. Easy to drink and better as it warms. I’m happy with the purchase.

murky gold with a large off-white creamy head. cloudy for a saison. aroma of marshmallow, candy sugar, and a hint of citrus hops. flavor is sweet with candy sugar, marshmallow, hops, banana, black pepper, and citrus. like a tripel.---re-rate---bottle. i honestly don’t remember having this the first time. the beer pours a clear gold under a huge fluffy white head. nice musty basement aroma with some pear. palate is sharply carbonated and light. flavors of basement dust, sweet white fruits juice. what happened here? my ratings don’t seem very similar.

Pours a nice orangish golden color with a medium white head. Nice spicy nose with a hint of lemon and alcohol suprisingly. Nice full creamy mouthfeel with a good dose of citrusy lemon and pepper. Nice beer, but different.
